S.S. Rajamouli latest masterpiece creation ‘RRR’ has been released in theatres today and only in India currently this periodic action drama is running on about 6200 screens which is somewhat unbelievable but given the kind of reputation and market goodwill Rajamouli has earned after the back to back Baahubali blockbusters, this film definitely deserves such huge screen count in India. According to our information currently RRR is running on about 3200 screens in the Hindi Belt and about 3000 screens in the South Indian regions of India which shows how much faith both makers of the film as well as theatres owners have on this venture.
RRR has been made with a monstrous budget of ₹ 550 crores and it has huge star power as big South stars like Jr. NTR and Ram Charan are playing lead roles in this film alongside Bollywood biggies like Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt who have given extended cameo appearances. Pre-release reviews for RRR were just outstanding as most experts gave it 4 stars or above and even in our detailed analysis we gave this film a rating of 4.5/5 stars.
Makers of RRR left no stone unturned while promoting this film before its release as Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan also joined the star cast for one of the promotional event and even on famous Youtuber Bhuvam Bam’s Youtube channel director S.S. Rajamouli alongside Ram Charan and Jr. NTR promoted RRR on a special episode of Tutu Talks.
Pre-release booking for RRR was also quite good in the South Indian regions while in the Hindi belts its booking was quite slow because still in Hindi belts ‘The Kashmir Files’ is creating a little bit of trouble for RRR but in our opinion that negative effect will surely get countered in the near future once the positive public word of mouth for RRR comes out in the open.
In the South Indian regions of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana RRR got a midnight release starting from 12:30 AM on Friday 25 March 2022. Both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments have already extended their full support to S.S. Rajamouli by hiking the ticket prices of RRR in the states. People were seen buying Day 1 shows tickets of this film from ticket counters by paying about 10 times the standard price i.e. ₹ 2500 – ₹ 3000 per ticket. In most parts of South India tickets of RRR got sold out even before midnight and even in the major Hindi belts of India which includes Jammu, Delhi NCR, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan most of the Day 1 shows of RRR were sold out a day before its release.
1st day Overall occupancy rate of RRR across India was recorded around 80% – 90% and these figures might increase a bit more in the next 2 days because the public feedback is just amazing for this movie. Most of the people who have watched this film already once have shown the desire to watch it in cinema again and both Jr. NTR and Ram Charan are receiving too much of appreciation. Some people are even calling ‘RRR’ 10 times better then Baahubali 2: The Conclusion which proves that Rajamouli has indeed created a masterpiece.
1st Day (Friday) Collection of RRR in India is ₹ 156 crores
