For complete details of MasterChef India Season 9 Episode 4 — including who made it to the final 25 and what happened on Day 1 of the Boot Camp — read on.

Pair 1: Vikrant Mumbaikar and Nalini Mumbaikar (Maharashtra) – A mother-daughter duo from Alibaug entered the MasterChef kitchen. They shared how one of their food reels went viral online, inspiring them to open an authentic Maharashtrian restaurant.

They served Prawns Stuffed Pomfret with Sol Curry to the judges. The judges loved the flavor and awarded them aprons, selecting them for the next round.

Pair 2: Vikram Pal Singh and Ruchi Kaur (Delhi) – A delivery boy from Delhi, Vikram, came with his wife Ruchi and served a Lebanese Platter to the judges. Vikram shared how he was often disrespected while working in a cloud kitchen and was told that respect comes only from wearing a chef’s coat. Motivated by that, he started his own veg rolls cart called Wrap Hut in Tilak Nagar, Delhi.

He explained every element of his platter while the judges tasted it. Impressed by his flavors and story, the judges gave him the selection apron and advanced him to the next round.

Pair 3: Priti Agarwal and Pinky Mangal (Madhya Pradesh) – Priti and Pinky entered the MasterChef kitchen and opened up about their emotional journey. Pinky, who is visually impaired due to an incurable eye disease, shared that she lost her sight before the birth of her younger son.

Despite her challenges, Pinky has consistently won a local cooking competition for visually impaired individuals for five consecutive years. The pair served Rajma Rice Balls, which the judges found delicious. They received aprons and entered the MasterChef Boot Camp.

Pair 4: Rinku Lakhani and Chandini Mehta (Gujarat) – Two sisters from Gujarat, Rinku and Chandini, brought their sibling chemistry to the kitchen. Rinku, a professional chef with 28 years of experience, mentioned that she had recently been awarded the title of ‘Best Cook’ by Chef Kunal Kapur.

Though the judges appreciated their banter, they felt the dish lacked a standout element. Yet, they were selected and given aprons to proceed further.

Pair 5: Priyanka Bhatia and Anya Bhatia (Haryana) – Former MasterChef India Season 1 contestant Priyanka returned to the show with her daughter Anya. She presented their dish to the judges and revealed that all five elements of the dish were prepared by her daughter.

After tasting, the judges were impressed and selected the duo for the MasterChef Boot Camp round.

Pair 6: Benaf Dadachandji and Norman Huo (Mumbai) – Former TV actress Benaf Dadachandji, known from Baa Bahu Aur Baby, entered the kitchen with her husband Norman. They served a creatively named dish — Dancing in Chaos. The judges appreciated the dish and unanimously selected them for the Boot Camp round.

MasterChef Boot Camp Begins

After the selection of 25 contestants, the MasterChef India Season 9 Boot Camp officially began. The judges — Chef Vikas Khanna, Chef Ranveer Brar, and Chef Kunal Kapur — welcomed all contestants and explained that they would need to earn their aprons through rigorous challenges.

They announced the first test, calling it the Great Indian Bread Basket Challenge, describing it as an Agni Pariksha for all contestants.

The Great Indian Bread Basket Challenge: In this challenge, all 25 contestants must cook four different types of rotis (breads) from four regions of India — North, East, South, and West.

The first 18 pairs to successfully prepare perfect rotis will advance to the next round, while the remaining seven pairs will be eliminated. There is no time limit for this task.

Next Episode Preview: In Episode 5 of MasterChef India Season 9, all 25 contestants will compete to complete the Great Indian Bread Basket Challenge. It will be exciting to see who makes it to the final 18.
