1. Returnal
Returnal, a third-person shooter video game released in 2021, was developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Available initially for PlayStation 5 on April 30, 2021, and later for Windows on February 15, 2023, Returnal follows the story of Selene Vassos, an astronaut on a quest to uncover the enigmatic “White Shadow” signal, only to become ensnared in a time loop upon landing on the planet Atropos.
2. Assassins Creed Valhalla
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, a 2020 action role-playing video game crafted by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, marks the twelfth significant entry in the Assassin’s Creed saga and follows the footsteps of its predecessor, 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Set primarily during the years 872–878 AD, the game weaves a fictional narrative amid the Viking expansions into the British Isles.
Players assume the role of Eivor Varinsdottir, a Viking raider striving to establish a new Viking clan in England, only to find themselves entangled in the age-old feud between the Assassin Brotherhood, champions of peace and freedom, and the Templar Order, proponents of peace through control.
Alongside the historical tale, the game features a contemporary framing story, set in the 21st century, where players follow Layla Hassan, an Assassin, as she delves into Eivor’s memories in a quest to save the Earth from imminent destruction.
3. Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood
Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood, released in 2021, is an action role-playing game developed by Cyanide and published by Nacon. Drawing inspiration from White Wolf Publishing’s tabletop role-playing game Werewolf: The Apocalypse, it forms an integral part of the expansive World of Darkness series.
The narrative revolves around Cahal, an eco-terrorist werewolf exiled from his tribe, as he battles against the nefarious Pentex corporation and its environmental devastation. Players step into Cahal’s shoes, navigating through the landscapes of the American Northwest.
