Tamil action comedy film Beast has been emerged as an absolute disaster at Box office India, The Thalapathy Vijay and Pooja Hegde starrer film based on mall hostage situation has lost almost 90% of its allotted screens in the Hindi belts after the first three days. Hindi dubbed version of Beast which was released as RAW has been completely rejected by the Indian audience as a result of which most of its allotted screens are being transferred to its other two South Indian competitor films i.e. RRR and KGF Chapter 2. Although Beast managed to get the second biggest Global opening of ₹ 88 crores as far as Tamil films are concerned but still makers are not at all happy as it has performed way below expectations at box office India.
As far as Tamil box office is concerned, Beast graph is declining steeply in the state of Tamil Nadu – One the first day it has earned ₹ 26.40 crores, on second day Beast minted ₹ 10.15 crores while on the third day this film has managed to gross only ₹ 7.21 crores. Till now in the opening 3 days Beast has collected ₹ 43.76 crores from the state of Tamil Nadu and these figures are quite disappointing as it is supposed to be the major key market as far as the box office collections of Beast in India are concerned.
It was quite evident when the announcement was made that Beast will release in Hindi dubbed version simultaneously that Thalapathy Vijay wanted to project himself as a PAN India superstar following the footsteps of Prabhas and Allu Arjun but looking at the poor performance of RAW at Hindi belts, it seems that Vijay needs to work really hard to cement his place in the Hindi box office markets of India.
Only because of Thalapathy Vijay and Pooja Hegde’s huge fandoms Beast is managing to find some success in the South Indian box office because writer and director Nelson has done a very bad job with the story of this film. Although makers promoted Beast as a action comedy film but its comic sequences are actually some of the worst parts of this film and that’s the major reason it has failed badly at box office India.
Both KGF Chapter 2 and RRR have absolutely side-lined Beast in the Hindi speaking regions of India. Tamil film Beast Day 4 overall occupancy rate has estimated around 45% – 55% which is just average as this film has already lost so many screens in both Hindi and South Indian belts of India. If Beast failed to show any sort of improvement in its Sunday 17 April 2022 biz then surely its game over for this Kollywood film.
4th Day (Saturday) Collection of Beast in India is ₹ 16.25 crores (approximately)
