WWE NXT 20 August 2020 Results, Segments Highlights Written Details

With just a few days left in NXT TakeOver XXX, we have seen two more NXT North American Title Qualifier Matches today also Ripley and Shotizi teamed up against the Robert Stone Brand. Dakota Kai sends a warning to Io Shirai after her match with Jessi Kamea. Tegan Nox says that she wants to clear all her misunderstandings with Candice LeRae over a cup of tea. Cole tells Pat that he will make him his bitch coming Saturday.

WWE NXT 20 August 2020 Winners and Losers

1. Johnny Gargano w/Candice LeRae vs. Ridge Holland North American Championship Match Qualifier

Winner – Johnny Gargano

Loser – Ridge Holland

At the start of the match, Johnny Gargano tells Ridge Holland that he doesn’t belong in the dame ring with him. Holland immediately slams Gargano. Holland locks Gargano in a Greco-Roman knuckle lock. Holland sends Gargano out of the ring with a shoulder tackle.

During the end of this match, Johnny Gargano rolls out of the ring. After a distraction from Candice LeRae, Gargano attempts a spinning armbar but Holland counters and drops Gargano face-first on the apron. As Holland is getting back in the ring, LeRae low blows Holland. Gargano hits the One Final Beat DDT for the win.

2. Dakota Kai vs. Jessi Kamea Singles Match

Winner – Dakota Kai

Loser – Jessi Kamea

Dakota Kai gets in full control early. Kai misses a boot in the corner. Jessi Kamea rolls up Kai for a near fall. Kai lands a basement dropkick. Kamea lands a sliding knee in the corner. Kamea lands a sidewalk slam for a near fall. Kai trips Kamea into the bottom rope. Kai lands the GTK for the win.

After the match, Dakota Kai says she can’t wait to kick Io Shirai over and over again. Shirai hits the ring and attacks Kai. Renee Gonzalez appears out of nowhere and boots Shirai in the face. Gonzalez powerbombs Shirai.

3. Legado del Fantasma vs. Breezango and Isaiah “Swerve” Scott 6 Maan Tag Team Match

Winners – Legado del Fantasma

Losers – Breezango and Isaiah “Swerve” Scott

Santos Escobar was holding Isaiah Scott in place. Wilde tries a dropkick but he ends up hitting Scott. Scott falls into Tyler Breeze and the referee calls it a tag. Scott hits his finish on Escobar but as he tries a pin, the referee yells that Scott isn’t the legal man. Wilde and Mendoza double dropkick Scott in the head. Escobar hits the Phantom Driver on Breeze for the win.

4. The Robert Stone Brand (Mercedes Martinez and Aliyah) vs. Shotzi Blackheart and Rhea Ripley

Winners – Shotzi Blackheart and Rhea Ripley

Losers – The Robert Stone Brand (Mercedes Martinez and Aliyah)

Mercedes Martinez sends Rhea Ripley into the corner. Ripley pulls Martinez off the apron. Ripley powerbombs Martinez over the barricade on the concrete floor. As Robert Stone checks on Martinez, Blackheart hits a senton off the top for the win.

5. Finn Bálor vs. The Velveteen Dream North American Championship Match Qualifier

Winner – Velveteen Dream

Loser – Finn Balor

During this match Cameron Grimes saunters down to the ring and says he’s here for what belongs to him. Grimes was sitting on a ladder holding the North American Championship. Dream drops Bálor with a pendulum backbreaker. Dream is taunts Grimes. Finn Bálor whips Dream into the corner. Dream falls out of the ring. Dream is holding on to the ladder Grimes is sitting on. Bálor stomps Dream. Bálor climbs the ladder and argues with Grimes. Dream pulls Bálor off the ladder and stun guns him on the apron. After a series of counters, Bálor hits the final cut. Bálor hits the shotgun dropkick.Bálor argues with Grimes as he is climbing up top. Dream hops up top and superplexes Bálor.

Johnny Gargano walks down to ringside. Gargano tips the ladder over and Grimes falls off the ladder onto the referee. Bálor double stomps Grimes. Dream hits the fameasser. Bálor lands the sling blade on Dream. Gargano grabs the title and tries to leave. Bronson Reed cuts Gargano off. Damian Priest appears behind Gargano. Reed and Priest knock Gargano out of the ring. Priest kicks Reed in the head. Priest hits the drops and gets superkicks by Dream. Bálor hits a dive out of the ring. Timothy Thatcher attacks Bálor from behind. Dream hits the Purple Rainmaker for the win.

After the match, everyone hits a big move. Bronson Reed was the last man standing after crushing Dream with a Death Valley Driver.

WWE NXT 20 August 2020 All Segments Updates

1. Backstage, Tegan Nox says she is ready to talk to Candice LeRae to try to fix whatever is wrong with their friendship. It’s important to her, so she is willing to meet LeRae over a glass of wine and talk it out.

2. Pat McAfee arrives with AJ Hawk and Darius Butler in his entourage.

3. During an in-ring segment Adam Cole gets in McAfee’s face and tells him that this Saturday he is going to make him his bitch.
