WWE NXT 2.0 Walter beats Roderick Strong in main event – 18 January 2022 Written Updates, Results and Highlights

Roderick Strong and Walter went head to head against each other tonight in the main event of NXT 2.0. Malcolm Bivens was present during the whole match at ringside to support Strong. The show went over the time limit as Walter was kicking out again and again after facing a series of big moves by Strong. At the end of the match Walter finishes off Roderick Strong with a massive Powerbomb at the centre of the ring. Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner joined Walter in the ring after his victory and all three members of IMPERIUM started attacking Roderick Strong. The Creed Brothers came to the rescue and a brawl breaks out between all 6 men as the lights go off with crowd chanting NXT NXT.

At the starts of todays NXT 2.0, Grayson Waller gave LA Knight a restraining order and in that order it was stated that Knight can’t come within 50 feet of Waller. Knight says Waller may have this restraining order on him, but that doesn’t apply to Dexter Lumis. Lumis appears behind Waller and almost traps him in Silence. Knight says Waller has two options, either he lifts the order and faces him, or Waller can face Lumis instead.

The match between Dante Chen and Guru Raaj ended in a no contest as during the match Duke Hudson jumped the barricade and attacked both men.

Backstage, Joe Gacy tells Harland he is disappointed about the fact that they aren’t in the Dusty Classic. Gacy says he isn’t mad at Harland though. Odessey Jones was standing by with a crutch. Jones injured his knee training. Jones tells Gacy he’s full of crap. Gacy tells Jones he appreciates his perspective and opens the door for him. Gacy notes they won’t let negativity spread like wildfire.

During the Tony D”Angelo eulogy for Pete Dunne segment, D’Angelo tried to attack Cameron Grimes but Grimes ends up smashing the framed picture of Dunne over Tony’s head.

During the match between Kay Lee Ray and Ivy Nile, NXT Women’s Champion ‘Mandy Rose’ runs down to ringside to provide a distraction. Nile rolls up Ray for the win. Post match, all of Toxic Attraction enters the ring to attack Ray. Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta make the save.

Backstage, Cora Jade tries to convince Raquel Gonzalez to be her partner in the Dusty Classic Women’s Tournament. Gonzalez says it’s Jade’s fault that she isn’t NXT Women’s Champion. Gonzalez says thanks but no thanks and walks away. Jade says she’ll convince her.
