In Episode 18 of MasterChef India Season 9, the Reinvent Kapoor Family’s Favorites Challenge took place. Karisma Kapoor joined the three judges (Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar, and Kunal Kapur) to judge all ten participating pairs of contestants. In the end, the best dishes were announced.
This 18th episode aired on January 28, 2026, on SET India and was simultaneously streamed on the SonyLIV app. Throughout the episode, host Paritosh Tripathi and special guest Karisma Kapoor were seen having a lot of fun with the contestants.

Rules of the Reinvent Kapoor Family’s Favorites Challenge
- All ten pairs had to reinvent a favorite dish of a specific Kapoor family member allotted to them in their own unique way.
- The time limit to cook was 90 minutes.
- The MasterChef World Class Pantry remained closed for the challenge.
- The Support Pantry remained open.

All three judges loved the reinvented dishes made by Anju & Manju and Simran & Himanshi. Both pairs received high praise for their creativity and execution. Simran and Himanshi even received a “spoon drop” from Kunal Kapur and a “karchhi tap” from Ranveer Brar — a true mark of appreciation in the MasterChef kitchen.
After the challenge ended, the judges announced that in the next episode, the first restaurant takeover of MasterChef India Season 9 would take place. The contestants will run the kitchen of the restaurant Mainland China, where they will cook and sell Indo-Chinese street food to customers.
