Katrina Kaif’s bold stripping scene from her 2003 debut film Boom is still regarded by many of her admirers as one of the most daring acts of her entire career. The then-newcomer shocked audiences by seductively removing her shirt in front of her much senior co-actor, Gulshan Grover.
In the second half of the film, Katrina’s character, Rina, takes off her shirt while sitting in front of Gulshan Grover’s character and then seduces him in an attempt to manipulate him against Amitabh Bachchan’s character.
Interestingly, Boom (2003) was Katrina Kaif’s debut Bollywood film. It was initially released with a more uncensored cut that included bolder content. However, those uncut versions were later withdrawn from the market. All DVDs and online copies were replaced with a censored version for public viewing.
In the original uncut version of the strip scene, Gulshan Grover’s character became significantly more intimate with Katrina’s character. This included him kissing her navel multiple times, which was removed from the censored OTT and DVD releases.
According to reports, Katrina had bigger ambitions in the industry and did not want the scene to affect her future career. Those more explicit portions were eventually taken off the shelves.
