Jersey (2022) Hindi Film Second Day Collection in India – 23 April (Saturday) Box Office Income Report

Another week, another Bollywood remake, and another flop, yes we are talking about recently released Hindi sports drama film Jersey which went on about 2450 screens yesterday (22 April 2022) in theatres across India but just as expected, this remake of Nani starrer Telugu film Jersey has flopped big time on the opening day as on day 1 this Jersey’s Bollywood version made a box office income of only ₹ 3.75 crores from its India business. There is a big possibility that if Jersey didn’t witness any kind of big growth in its overall biz by the end of first weekend then almost 70% – 80% screens which are being allotted to this film across India will get transferred to Prashanth Neel’s KGF Chapter 2 as the Yash starrer PAN India film is currently on a record breaking spree.

Makers of Jersey had high expectations from this film as even trade analysts were expecting it to earn at least ₹ 10+ crores on the opening day but seems like the new age audience doesn’t like such kind of films anymore and especially copy paste remakes are a big no no for them. Even during the pre-release reviews most of the critics and experts had one major gripe with Jersey and which is that director and scriptwriter Gowtam Tinnanuri has not shown any creativity while writing its plot as he completely copied the whole Telugu version from start to finish which was released back in year 2019.

Currently producer trio of Jersey i.e. Dil Raju, Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Aman Gill are in a lot of fear because it might emerge as a bigger flop then John Abraham’s Attack which was released earlier this month on 1 April 2022 and managed to earn a box office collection of ₹ 22.58 crores from its lifetime India biz. Satellite rights of Jersey are being bagged by Zee Cinema TV Channel while its OTT rights are being sold to Netflix India and only because of these 2 deals, Jersey might be able to recover its budget of ₹ 100 crores.

Speaking of Public word of mouth for Jersey 2022 Hindi film, most viewers appeared very disappointed after watching this film because of its slow pacing. Many people who had already watched the Nani’s Telugu version, were seen saying that they wasted their money and time big time as it would have been better if they had re-watched the Hindi dubbed version of original Jersey Telugu film on Youtube for free.

At box office India, Jersey’s biz witnessed a slight growth on Day 2 but still this is not gaming changing as occupancy rate figures in most of the Hindi belts of India were quite average. Even RRR did better then Jersey in some parts of India and in South India it has done very poorly as most of its shows went almost empty on Day 2. Seeing from the audience feedback, there isn’t many hope for Jersey to improve its biz on Day 3.

2nd Day (Saturday) Collection of Jersey in India is  ₹ 5.50 crores
