Jersey (2022) Hindi Film 5th Day Collection in India – 26 April (Tuesday) Box Office Income Report

Bollywood remake of Telugu film Jersey which was released last week in cinemas across India has came off as a super flop and this outcome has not surprised anyone because judging from its pre-release trailers and the kind of mixed reviews it received from the critics, this was highly expected that this sports drama venture won’t be able to survive for too long at box office India. Although makers of Jersey tried their level best to avoid the inevitable clash with box office monster titled KGF Chapter 2 by delaying Jersey by a week but still even after that KGF 2 completely demolished this Bollywood medium budget film.

In the opening 4 days Jersey made a box office collection of only ₹ 17.65 crores and with every passing day the box office business of this film is facing a steep decline. Even talented actors like Shahid Kapoor and Pankaj Kapoor failed to save this film but its not the actors fault by any means as director and writer Gowtam Tinnanuri is the one who should be blamed because he copied the whole original 2019 Telugu version scene by scene without adding anything extra to its plot.

Newcomer actress Mrunal Thakur, who started her Bollywood career just a few years back after quitting the ITV industry will face the negative impact of Jersey getting flopped. Although Mrunal has given a wonderful performance in this film playing the character of Shahid’s on-screen wife Vidya but most of the times makers in this industry tend to make someone a scapegoat after their films gets flopped and Mrunal might suffer this time.

The tsunami of KGF 2 is continuously hurting Jersey in the Hindi belts of India and already this film has lost more then 1000 screens as earlier around 2450 screens were allotted to Jersey at its release but now almost 1000 of those got transferred to KGF 2 by single screen owners and if the same downward trend continued for Jersey then it will lose even more screens in the next few days.

One more time today on 26 April 2022, Jersey got overshadowed by KGF 2 at box office India. Young audience and even the senior citizens appeared more inclined towards Yash starrer then the Bollywood remake venture. Day 5 overall occupancy rate of Jersey in India has been estimated around 15% – 25% which is very bad and keeping in mind the fact that this film is currently running on a low screen count so there aren’t many hopes left for this film as far as next few days biz is concerned.

5th Day (Tuesday) Collection of Jersey in India is  ₹ 90 lacs (approximately)
