by ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is starting from 5 October in India and the names of Umpires and match referees who will be seen officiating throughout this 2 months long tournament have been announced by the International Cricket Council on 8 September 2023. As expected, English and Australian umpires have dominated the list announced by ICC on Friday morning.
Sixteen umpires will be seen umpiring during the 13th edition of ICC ODI World Cup in India and it includes all 12 of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires as well as four members of the ICC Emerging Umpire Panel. Nitin Menon from India and Kumar Dharmasena will do on-field umpiring for the tournament opener between England vs New Zealand on 5 October 2023 in Ahmedabad.
Former Indian fast bowling legend ‘Javagal Srinath’ is going to be the match referee for the first match of ICC ODI World Cup 2023 between ENG vs NZ and apart from Srinath, 3 other match referees are also being announced by the ICC on Friday, 8 Sept 2023.
