Starring Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon in lead roles Indian comic-action film Bachchan Paandey has got off to a flying start at the Indian box office. The Farhad Samji directorial has made a satisfactory double digit box office collection of ₹ 13.25 crores on the first day. Despite facing very tough competition from Vivek Agnihotri’s reality based film The Kashmir Files, Bachchan Paandey has successfully managed to made a mark and after seeing the kind of positive word of mouth this movie is getting right now both on social media as well as audience coming out of cinema halls, it is highly expected that the collection figures of this movie will further increase.
Due to the massive success of The Kashmir Files, Bachchan Paandey has managed to get only limited number of screens and due to the Holi Festival it has got only post noon screenings in some parts of India but despite of all these hurdles it has managed to create impact but definitely these first day collection figures of Bachchan Paandey needs to improve in the coming days otherwise it will be very hard for producer Sajid Nadiadwala to recover the budget of ₹ 150 crores which was being spent on the making of this film.
From the belts of Maharashtra and Gujarat, Bachchan Paandey is making most of the income right now. While in the Northern India The Kashmir Files is completely dominating at the moment. One thing is for sure that due to the huge success of The Kashmir Files, all the momentum of Bachchan Pandey has been halted and this clearly proves that more then star power, content is the king.
Overall occupancy rate of Bachchan Paandey on 2nd day has been recorded at around 65% – 75% which is slightly down as compared to yesterday. Business of this film during the morning and noon shows was quite average on Saturday and it picked up later in the evening time. We still need to wait and see about how much public word of mouth can work in its favour as that is quite positive.
Second Day collection of Bachchan Paandey at Indian box office is ₹ 12 crores
