John Abraham, Rakul Preet Singh, and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Bollywood film Attack is suffering major losses at box office India because of RRR and The Kashmir Files. The Lakshya Raj Anand directorial film which was released on 1 April 2022 worldwide has failed to even earn ₹ 15 crores in the opening 4 days and looking at the tortoise pace at which this super soldier sci-fi action thriller is collecting right now at box office India, there is no hope for this movie to recover the hefty budget of ₹ 95 crores that was being spent on the making of this film.
At the opening day Attack was released on about 2400 screens worldwide but now that no. has been reduced majorly as most of its screens got transferred to ‘The Kashmir Files’ and ‘RRR’ in the Indian cinemas. After seeing the poor audience response on the first day, some cinema owners transferred the screens allotted to Attack to RRR on the 2nd day and due to this producers of Attack will surely suffer major losses.
Whether producers of Attack will be able to recover their investment or not now completely depends on the kind of OTT deal they will get in near future. As makers have already started talks with some major OTT owners, it will be quite interesting to see what kind of deal they will manage to crack as they will look towards getting a whooping amount for a early Attack OTT release window.
Sequel of Attack has also been confirmed by the makers as this film was just the part 1 and John has already said that he would love to see either Hrithik Roshan or Tiger Shroff playing the lead role in Attack Part 2 but then again after the disastrous performance of the first film, a sequel of Attach appears to be a bad idea as audience doesn’t seem to be interested at all.
Box office India business of Attack on Tuesday, 5 April 2022, has suffered once again due to the Tsunami of RRR in Hindi belts. Attack 5th day overall occupancy rate has been estimated around 7% – 15% which is outright awful and if the similar trend continued for the next few days then surely this film will be taken off all the screens very soon.
5th Day (Tuesday) Collection of Attack in India is ₹ 1.30 crores (approximately)
