RRR (2022) Film Second Day Collection in India – Both Hindi and South Indian Belts Report

Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn. and Alia Bhatt starrer South Indian periodic action drama film ‘RRR’ which was released yesterday in theatres on Friday 25 March 2022 has smashed all the box office records by collecting ₹ 156 crores only from its India biz. From Andra Pradesh only RRR grossed ₹ 75 crores and it seems that the support provided by CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to S.S. Rajamouli by hiking the ticket prices has worked quite positive in favour of RRR. According to our sources in many parts of Andra Pradesh and Telangana tickets of RRR were selling at a huge prices ranging between ₹ 2500 – ₹ 3000 and surely makers of the film will be quite thankful to these respective governments. Right now RRR is running on about 6200 screens in India only and out of these 3200 screens are being allotted to the Hindi belts while the rest are allotted to the South India regions.

From North India Belts on Day 1 ‘RRR’ grossed ₹ 25 crores on day 1 and according to reports makers are not happy with these numbers as they were a expecting a lot more. S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion grossed ₹ 42 crores from its day 1 biz in North India and there is a massive ₹ 17 crores difference between RRR and Baahubali 2 day 1 biz in North India which is definitely not a good sign. If trades insiders are to be believed then as per them Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ is creating a lot of trouble for RRR in the Hindi belts right now and definitely RRR makers needs to do something to resolve it as they have put a lot on stake. Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi is still the biggest day 1 opener in Hindi belts since the Covid19 Pandemic has started as the Rohit Shetty directorial grossed ₹ 26.29 crores on day 1 in Hindi belts of India.

There are very high expectations that we will witness massive growth in box office India business of RRR in the next few days. We have already seen recently in the case of ‘The Kashmir Files’ that what kind of wonders positive public word of mouth can do for a film and the feedback RRR is getting right now is mind boggling. Some fans are calling it the Baap of Baahubali and if we believe the statements made by these fans then surely we can guarantee you that S.S. Rajamouli will definitely come up with either a sequel or a prequel or RRR sooner rather then later.

Many were saying after the success of Baahubali:  The Conclusion that it was just a mere fluke and after seeing the blockbuster performance of its sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion the same people said that it got successful because of the hype generated by Baahubali 1’s cliffhanger related to Kattappa killing Amarendra Baahubali. But now after the grand opening of RRR those people are nowhere to be found anymore and S.S. Rajamouli has proved that he is truly the Best director in Indian cinema industry.

The OTT rights of RRR are being bagged by ZEE5 and Netflix for a whooping amount of ₹ 325 crores and it is expected to drop on the streaming services later this year. Zee Network has acquired the satellite rights of the Hindi version of RRR, the Star India network owns the television rights of the film’s Telugu Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions and makers have sold these rights for massive amounts.

On the second day RRR overall occupancy rate has been recorded around 75% – 85% and these figures have decreased a little bit as compared to Friday but tomorrow on Sunday we are expecting a big jump in this percentage because tomorrow is Sunday, a Holiday across India and people will surely go in massive numbers to watch RRR in theatres. Andra Pradesh is still proving out to be the most profitable region for RRR as on Saturday almost 95% of RRR shows went houseful in the state ruled by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

2nd Day (Saturday) Collection of RRR in India is  ₹ 140 crores (approximately)
