Shaadi Week kicked off in Episode 11 of MasterChef India Season 9, which aired on January 19, 2026, on the SET TV channel and streamed simultaneously on the SonyLIV app. Two of India’s top wedding caterers joined as special guests and served as judges for the dishes prepared by contestant pairs.
In this episode, a Sagai (Engagement) cooking challenge took place, where all 12 pairs were allotted two ingredients each by the judges. However, a shocking twist announced at the end of the cooking time tested the friendships and trust between the pairs.

The episode began with all 12 pairs entering the MasterChef kitchen, beautifully decorated in a wedding theme. Judges Chef Vikas Khanna, Chef Ranveer Brar, and Chef Kunal Kapur introduced the special guests of the evening — India’s renowned wedding caterers Yash Singh and Munna Maharaj.
The judges announced that throughout the week, different Indian wedding rituals would be celebrated inside the MasterChef kitchen, beginning with Sagai. Each pair was then allotted two ingredients.

Each set of ingredients was given to two pairs. The allotments were as follows:

- MasterChef’s World-Class Pantry will remain open for 5 minutes (within the 60-minute time limit).
- Only one partner from each pair can collect ingredients from the pantry.
- The pair with the best dish will win a Veeba Advantage Power Card.
After the announcement of the rules and ingredient allotments, one partner from each pair collected ingredients from the pantry. As cooking began, the three judges observed each pair closely at their stations.
Special Twist: Only One Dish Will Be Tasted
After the cooking time ended, the judges revealed a shocking twist: pairs who were allotted the same set of ingredients had to unanimously decide whose dish would be served to the judges. Only one dish per ingredient set would be tasted. If that dish won the challenge, both pairs would receive the advantage in the next round.
Chosen Pairs and Dishes Served
The chosen dishes served to the judges were:
- Avni and Venu – Nischeya
- Anshmeet and Prabhdeep – Chaa Da Chaah Chade
- Archana and Rupali – Gobizza

- Veeba Power Card Winners: Parvati Soni & Himang Soni, and Kanchana Devi & Raksha Devi
All three judges praised the taste and creativity of Sangam, prepared by the mother-son duo Parvati and Himang using mutton and fish. As a result, they won the Sagai Cooking Challenge, and their partner pair — Kanchana and Raksha — also received the Power Card advantage. Both pairs were awarded the Veeba Power Card, giving them a major edge in the next challenge.
