The medical report of Swati Maliwal, the AAP Rajya Sabha MP, has become a focal point in the ongoing investigation into her alleged assault. According to the medico-legal certificate (MLC) issued by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi, Swati Maliwal’s AIIMS Medical Report reveals significant injuries, including bruises over her left leg dorsal and right cheek. The report details a bruise on the proximal left leg dorsal aspect of approximately 3×2 cm and a bruise on the right cheek below the right eye of approximately 2×2 cm.
The report also includes a history provided by the patient herself, indicating that she was allegedly assaulted by Bibhav Kumar, a personal aide to the Chief Minister of Delhi, at the chief minister’s residence. According to her account, she was slapped multiple times and hit her head on a sharp object after being pushed by the accused.
The Delhi Police, in collaboration with the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), has been actively investigating the case. Swati Maliwal underwent a medical check-up at AIIMS for about four hours on the night of May 17, 2024, to assess her injuries. The investigation continues, with the Delhi Police intensifying their search for Bibhav Kumar, the accused in the case.
The Swati Maliwal and Bibhav Kumar controversy has been making headlines recently. It all started with Swati Maliwal, an AAP Rajya Sabha MP, accusing Bibhav Kumar, a close aide of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, of assault. According to Maliwal, she was brutally beaten by Kumar at Kejriwal’s official residence. The alleged incident has sparked a political storm, with both sides trading accusations and counter-accusations.
Maliwal filed a complaint with the Delhi Police, detailing a harrowing account of being slapped 7-8 times on the face and being hit in the chest, stomach, and sensitive parts. She also mentioned that she managed to run out of the house and call the police. The Delhi Police have filed an FIR based on Maliwal’s complaint.
On the other hand, Bibhav Kumar has filed a counter-complaint against Maliwal, accusing her of unauthorized entry, verbal abuse, and threats. He claimed that Maliwal forcefully and illegally entered the Chief Minister’s residence despite objections from security personnel and staff. Kumar also alleged that Maliwal threatened to implicate him in a false case and urged authorities to investigate her potential connections with BJP leaders.
The controversy has led to a war of words between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The AAP has accused the BJP of being involved in the matter, while the BJP has criticized Kejriwal for his silence on the issue. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also summoned Kumar for a hearing in the matter.
