One of the biggest gaming companies in North America ‘Activision Blizzard’ is getting a lot of limelight now a days whether its about the multi billion dollar acquisition deal with Microsoft or bad treatment of employees at the company. Now once again Activision is back in news but this time around for all the right reason as recently it has been reported that Activision has decided to delay the release of Call of Duty game which was planned for release in year 2023 and now that upcoming game will release in year 2024.
According to a report by leading gaming journalist Jason Schreier, After the bad performance of recent COD release (Call of Duty: Vanguard) Activision has decided to delay the next year ‘2023’ Call of Duty game and now it will release in 2024. Schreier also confirmed that this decision by Activision has nothing to do with Microsoft or its recent acquisition deal as its a completely independent decision by the company.
n the meantime as per Schreier, Activision is working on some other projects to fill the void due to the 2023’s COD delay. A Call of Duty is all set to release in Fall of 2022 and that game will receive additional content in 2023 as well. Also a new free-to-play COD game is also expected to release next year (Warzone 2) and Treyarch will work on that F2P title as well.
Without any iota of doubt, this decision by Activision will have a huge impact on the gaming industry as a whole. As since fall 2005 Activision has released a new Call of Duty game every year and also these game always topped the revenue charts yearly as this franchise has sold more than 400 million units since the series started back in year 2003.
