- Gunther opens the December 8, 2025 episode of WWE RAW by making his entrance to the ring. He grabs a microphone and declares that he earned the right to face John Cena in Cena’s final match by defeating LA Knight. Gunther proclaims that Cena will go one-on-one with the greatest professional wrestler of all time. A large countdown clock then appears on the screen, ticking down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until John Cena’s retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Gunther continues, saying that simply beating Cena isn’t enough for him. He vows to break Cena’s spirit, push him around the ring, bully him, drop him on his head, lock him in the sleeper hold, and force Cena to quit.
- Backstage, an irritated Logan Paul rallies The Vision—Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker—vowing to retaliate against Rey Mysterio for slapping him earlier, insisting it gets handled tonight. Paul Heyman reminds Logan he has backup, but Logan flips it, declaring that if Breakker and Reed get into trouble, he’s got their backs. Impressed by Logan’s loyalty, Heyman quietly slips him a pair of brass knuckles “just in case.”
- During Rey Mysterio’s entrance for his match against Logan Paul, Logan ambushed him from behind and slipped on brass knuckles. Rey briefly fought back, countering one knockout punch and setting up a 619, but a returning mystery man in a black hoodie suddenly superkicked Rey and hit a Curb Stomp. With Rey down, Logan landed the brass knuckle punch. As Logan escaped, LA Knight rushed the ring and vowed to stomp the hooded man’s head in and make Logan pay later that night.
- After the World Tag Team Title match between AJ Styles & Dragon Lee and the War Raiders, The New Day and Grayson Waller confronted the champions. The Usos then returned dramatically from the crowd, with Jimmy announcing their full-time comeback to the tag division after recent struggles. Jey declared they’re going “back to us,” reminded The New Day of their history, and warned Styles & Dragon Lee that they’re coming for everything. When The New Day grabbed the champs, The Usos attacked, sending New Day flying and forcing Waller to retreat, ending with an intense staredown between The Usos and the reigning champions.
- In a ring interview with Jackie Redmond, Stephanie Vaquer declared she’s ready to fight anyone, stating she lets her actions do the talking and that the current women’s division is far different from fifteen years ago, with her standing at the very top. Nikki Bella interrupted, demanding a rematch, but before anything could escalate, Raquel Rodriguez emerged from the crowd, hurled Nikki into the ring post, then slid into the ring and challenged Vaquer face-to-face, telling the champion to name the time and place so she can take the title.
- Backstage, Finn Bálor gloats about dodging Rey Mysterio thanks to Logan Paul’s interference, while “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio says he doesn’t know who the masked man in the black hoodie was but already likes him. Raquel Rodriguez approaches Liv Morgan to assure her that Nikki Bella won’t cost her another shot at the Women’s World Championship, and Liv tells Roxanne Perez she’ll have her back in her corner tonight.\
- During the main event match between Logan Paul and LA Knight, the Mysterio hoodie guy interferes! He curb stomps Knight while Heyman distracts the referee! Logan Paul then takes advantage of the distraction, climbs to the top rope, and hits a huge splash for the win!
- After the Logan Paul vs. LA Knight match, Paul Heyman enters the ring with Paul, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed. Heyman mocks Kansas City’s two states and declares Bron Breakker will become World Heavyweight Champion on January 5. Breakker taunts an absent CM Punk, calls him a fraud and a “crackhead”-looking phony despite his straight-edge persona, and demands the ruthless 2010s version of Punk or threatens to hospitalize him and take his title (and wife AJ Lee). As Breakker vows to Spear and pin Punk, a battered LA Knight defiantly heads back to the ring. Logan Paul and Bronson Reed intercept him backstage, brutally attack him alongside security, powerbomb him through a table, and after Knight rises, Reed crushes him with a Tsunami onto a car.
