- The show started with Roman Reigns entering the ring and grabbing the mic to cut a promo, but he was soon interrupted by Paul Heyman and Bronson Reed. Roman had a back-and-forth on the mic with Heyman and Reed, and then he challenged Reed to a fight. Heyman, however, announced that Reed would face Roman at Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, in an Australian Street Fight, and Roman accepted the match stipulation. Roman and Reed then brawled outside the ring, with Roman standing tall after hitting Reed with multiple Superman Punches.
- Backstage, Asuka yelled at GM Adam Pearce, asking him to book Kairi Sane vs. IYO SKY for tonight. Pearce said he needed to talk to IYO first before scheduling the match and then left. Kairi Sane caught up with Asuka, and Asuka informed her that Kairi would face IYO later tonight in a one-on-one match. Kairi told Asuka she needed to face IYO, then slapped her and yelled at her in Japanese. Asuka walked away, and Kairi scratched her head in frustration. Asuka then called out to her, yelling, “Kairi!”
- Backstage, Lyra Valkyria is approached by Bayley, who offers to be in Lyra’s corner. Lyra asks Bayley how she’s feeling, then mentions that Raquel Rodriguez will be out there and that she needs all the help she can get. Lyra agrees to have Bayley’s support at ringside.
- Backstage, Roman Reigns meets with The Usos. Jimmy expresses offense at Bronson Reed’s comments, and Jey assures Roman he has his back. Roman responds that he doesn’t need help and tells Jey to focus on his own business, noting that CM Punk is the one talking at the top of the hour, not Jey. Jey leaves, and Roman then tells Jimmy he sees and hears everything, asking what the issue is with Jey taking his advice before walking off.
- Backstage, Jackie Redmond interviews “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles. The interview gets interrupted by The Judgment Day, with Dominik Mysterio claiming Styles thinks he can beat John Cena but can’t beat him, while Finn Bálor warns that a tag team title match is a big mistake. - CM Punk enters the ring and grabs the mic. He thanks the fans for their warm welcome back to WWE for AJ Lee, then addresses the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship match, promising to stay out of Cody Rhodes’ business despite his history with Seth “Freakin'” Rollins. Punk declares he started the year beating Rollins on Netflix and vows to do it again to end the year, claiming he’ll reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship because he has Rollins’ number. Suddenly, LA Knight appears and says he has yet to win the World Heavyweight Championship. While thanking Punk for being a good husband, Knight calls him a “trash champion” for losing the title to Rollins in just 5 minutes after winning it. Knight brags that Rollins has never pinned him, but Punk retorts that Knight has never been champion, unlike himself. Knight calls Punk a “two-time loser” while claiming he’s a “two-time winner” against Rollins, noting that Punk handed him one of those wins. Jey Uso shows up and Knight says Jey Uso had the title but lost it, and his time has passed. He asserts it’s his time, not Jey’s or Punk’s, and tells Jey he’ll never be Roman Reigns and should focus on the tag titles. Jimmy Uso appears, and as Knight addresses both him and Jey, Jey superkicks Knight. Punk tells Jey that if he wants the title, he’ll have to get in line behind him, suggesting Jey should focus on becoming a tag team champion. Punk adds that while he likes Jey, he hates “Little Roman.” Jimmy holds Jey back, giving Punk the chance to knock Jey out. When Punk turns around, Jimmy superkicks him.
- In a pre-taped video package, IYO SKY speaks about her conflict with Asuka, stating that the fallout was Asuka’s fault, not Rhea Ripley’s. She acknowledges owing much to Asuka, whom she once viewed as a big sister, but claims Asuka’s jealousy and disrespect changed everything. IYO notes that Asuka was a reason for her championship success but not the sole reason, and agrees with Rhea that Asuka only cares about herself. She adds that a true family member wouldn’t take credit for her achievements, declaring that she and Asuka are no longer family and that she’s discovering who her real allies are (referring to Rhea). IYO concludes by warning that at Crown Jewel, Asuka will learn that she’s not ready for IYO.
- After the match between IYO SKY and Kairi Sane ended, Asuka attacked an already beaten-up IYO inside the ring. Then, she held down IYO and forced Kairi to hit IYO with an Insane Elbow. Kairi reluctantly hit IYO with the Insane Elbow, and then Asuka, overjoyed, hugged Kairi, while Kairi looked devastated.
- Backstage, Becky Lynch blames the referee for her loss tonight as Seth “Freakin'” Rollins stares at the Rolex watch given to him by “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes. Rollins then tells Paul Heyman they need to talk, emphasizing that he must win this Saturday. He asks, “What if I don’t?” Heyman responds that if Rollins loses, he’ll lose the locker room’s respect and the faith of The Vision, effectively becoming a “de facto secondary champion” and throwing away everything they’ve worked for. Rollins points out that Heyman left himself out of the equation and demands a straight answer. Heyman replies that Rollins will eventually have to ask himself why Heyman chose him over Roman Reigns.
- Backstage, Jey Uso was seen talking with Roman Reigns when Jimmy Uso arrives. Jey questions why Jimmy was out there, accusing him of protecting CM Punk and urging him to choose a side. Jey then leaves. Jimmy tells Roman that he and Jey are nothing like him. Roman retorts that Jey became more like him and less like Jimmy when he was World Heavyweight Champion, adding that if he needs to help his brothers, they’ll sometimes need to stay out of his way.
