Format and Rules for the Auditions
Aspiring roadies enter the personal interview room one set at a time. After their audition, gang leaders from both gangs bid for them using either the common roadiums bank or their individual roadiums bank (the individual bank can be used only after the common bank is empty).
Each gang has 1 lakh roadiums in the common bank and 30,000 roadiums in the individual bank of each gang leader.
The gang or gang leader with the highest bid inducts the aspiring roadie into their gang. When a gang wins a bid using the common bank, one of its gang leaders must put their individual stamp on the roadie’s arm. The gang leaders of that gang decide who places the stamp.
Any number of roadies can be selected by both gangs, but only 16 roadies from each gang will proceed on the journey.
There is also a secret snatch button on each gang leader’s chair. It can be pressed at any time during bidding. If the winning bid for a roadie is above 15,000 roadiums by the opposite gang, the gang leader who presses the snatch button gets the roadie for free, while the opposite gang pays for that roadie from its common bank.
Audition 1
- Aspiring Roadies: Sneha, Shine, Preet
- Selected Roadies: Sneha (Gang OG for 7,000 roadiums, Neha Dhupia stamp), Shine (Gang OG for 3,000 roadiums, Prince Narula stamp), Preet (Gang OG for 17,500 roadiums, Prince Narula stamp)
Sneha, a professional arm-wrestler, impressed the gang leaders by arm-wrestling against Bani J and Neha Dhupia. She also performed push-ups and pull-ups. Shine entertained everyone with a dance performance and high energy. Preet impressed with his humble and desi personality. He shared that he is currently unemployed because his father runs a security agency, though he has his own ambitions. All three aspirants were selected.
Audition 2
- Aspiring Roadies: Hrietik, Allen Choudhary
- Selected Roadies: None
Hrietik entered the personal interview room first. His audition form stated that he considers Allen Choudhary the worst content creator because he finds his content cringe. Allen was also present for his personal interview and was called in next. The gang leaders became angry after learning about the vulgar and explicit content Allen creates on social media for views, including past instances of morphing images of girls for engagement.
All gang leaders and host Rannvijay strongly criticized Allen for his past actions. Allen apologized and promised not to do it again. Rannvijay told him that Roadies is not a platform for redemption and advised him to wait one year, improve himself, and return next year.
Hrietik was also rejected. The gang leaders were unhappy with his views on girls, including indecent remarks on his audition form about girls getting molested because of wearing short clothes. They said Hrietik and Allen are two sides of the same coin and asked him to leave.
Audition 3
- Aspiring Roadie: Karishma Talwar
- Selected Roadie: Karishma (snatched by Gang OG for 22,000 roadiums, Neha Dhupia stamp)
Former Splitsvilla Season 8 co-contestant Karishma Talwar (Prince Narula’s connection from the show) arrived for her Roadies audition. Prince looked excited to see her return. Karishma shared her emotional story of facing domestic violence from her husband and eventually separating from him. She also spoke about her journey of losing almost 40 kg. The gang leaders noted that among all the aspirants that day, she was the only one with a true rebirth story.
She further impressed everyone by performing a hanging aerial dance on a contraption. Gang NewG won the bid for her at 22,000 roadiums. However, in a twist, Neha Dhupia had secretly pressed the snatch button. Neha stamped Karishma’s arm, inducting her into Gang OG.
Next Episode Preview: Episode 2 of MTV Roadies Rebirth will continue the auditions. An aspirant from Nepal is expected to impress the gang leaders and host Rannvijay with his athletic ability and heroic stunts.
