Highlights and Major moments
-
- At the start of the December 5, 2025 episode of WWE SmackDown, Drew McIntyre arrives in a white Dodge Ram truck and gets immediately confronted by General Manager Nick Aldis and security. Aldis orders McIntyre to leave the premises. As McIntyre begins to get back into his truck, Cody Rhodes suddenly attacks him from behind, with security quickly pulling Rhodes away. Rhodes then heads to the ring to kick off the show. Once there, he calls out McIntyre for recently invading his tour bus and labels him “WWE’s resident cockroach.” Rhodes declares that although McIntyre hasn’t beaten him, he has definitely broken him mentally. He then pleads with Nick Aldis to lift McIntyre’s suspension, saying he wants the chance to come back and “stomp the cockroach out” once and for all.
- Backstage, #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano) are still in possession of Axiom’s mask as they discuss their plan to climb back to the top of the tag team division. Ciampa confidently declares that once he’s finished with Ilja Dragunov, he will become the new United States Champion. Carmelo Hayes interrupts, telling Ciampa to “reschedule that championship talk” because Hayes has the next title shot. He then calls Ciampa a jackass—pointing at DIY’s own T-shirt, which reads “Don’t Call Tommaso Ciampa a Jackass”—before smirking and walking off.
- In a pre-taped video package, Damian Priest cuts a promo and says he’s heard Aleister Black talk in circles for far too long. Priest declares that Aleister will not break him; he’s only delaying the inevitable. Priest warns that if Aleister wants to bring Zelina Vega into this, then he’s bringing Rhea Ripley.Rhea Ripley then steps into frame and says Zelina made a fatal mistake by poking the bear without realizing the bear would actually show up. Rhea tells her she just signed her own death warrant, and that she and Aleister are about to find out exactly why no one survives The Terror Twins.
- Backstage, Cathy Kelley is with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Charlotte says she agreed to join Alexa’s WarGames team because it meant the world to her. Alexa adds that while WarGames definitely did Charlotte some good, the real win was how much stronger it made their bond. Charlotte smiles and says now the two of them are laser-focused on one thing: winning back the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
- Backstage, Cathy Kelly interviewed LA Knight. Knight said he didn’t want to keep repeating himself and declared that their last encounter is happening now between him and Gunther. He acknowledged that Gunther is a former world champion, but insisted he himself is an unstoppable force. Knight warned that if Gunther wants a fight, he’ll give him one—and he’ll drop him right on his head.
- After the match between Alexa Bliss and Kairi Sane, Nia Jax and Lash Legend attacked Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss from behind. Asuka rushed into the ring and fought off both Nia and Lash, but Nia countered with a headbutt that knocked Asuka out cold. Kairi Sane then went after Nia, only for Lash Legend to take her down and set her up for the A-Nia-Lator. Asuka recovered just in time to make the save. In the end, Nia Jax and Lash Legend stood tall, holding up the Women’s Tag Team Championship belts.
- Backstage, Cody Rhodes entered General Manager Nick Aldis’ office, where Oba Femi and Ricky Saints were already waiting. Oba Femi questioned why both he and Saints had been summoned, with Saints clearly wondering the same thing. Cody introduced himself and got straight to the point: the winner of their match at NXT Deadline will challenge Cody for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event next week.
- Backstage, Cathy Kelley stands with Nia Jax and Lash Legend for an interview. Cathy Kelley asks Nia and Lash for their thoughts after what went down at Survivor Series: WarGames. Nia Jax says that what happened to The Kabuki Warriors is exactly what they deserved. She explains that Asuka tried to spit that disgusting blue mist right in Lash’s face to blind her, and that is why they lost WarGames. Nia warns that when anyone messes with them, they pay the price. Lash Legend agrees, saying “Facts,” and adds that now they are coming for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. She says there is not a single team on the roster that can stop them and that there is nothing anyone can do about it. Lash declares that those titles are theirs.
- During the singles match between Jade Cargill and Alba Fyre, Chelsea Green was at ringside cheering on Alba Fyre when Kiana James and Giulia suddenly appear. The two attack Chelsea, stomping and slamming her at the entrance ramp. The commotion distracts Alba, who turns her attention to ringside in concern for her friend. In that moment of hesitation, Jade Cargill capitalizes with the Jade Storm (or her finishing move) and picks up the victory.
- Backstage, the team of Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom) met with General Manager Nick Aldis to request a match against #DIY. Before a decision could be made, Ilja Dragunov arrived and interjected, claiming that Tommaso Ciampa was “begging for his attention” and demanding a match against him. Aldis granted Dragunov’s request. Dragunov then turned to Fraxiom and declared that they would only “get what is left of Ciampa” next week. Immediately after, Dragunov spun around, finding himself face-to-face with The MFTs.
- Backstage, Jade Cargill once again encountered B-Fab. However, their interaction was quickly broken up by the arrival of “Michin” Mia Yim, who renewed her confrontation with Cargill, stating that she did not understand the meaning of friendship. This verbal exchange led to an impromptu challenge. Cargill accepted, declaring she would immediately meet with General Manager Nick Aldis to arrange a rematch against Yim.
- In the ring, Solo Sikoa and The MFT’s celebrate eliminating Sami Zayn, declaring they can finally move forward. Solo turns his attention to The Wyatt Sicks, accusing Uncle Howdy of watching his family while they’ve been watching him. He claims the WWE Tag Team Titles held by Howdy’s group rightfully belong to The Bloodline and vows to strip Howdy of everything once tied to Bray Wyatt, insisting Howdy doesn’t deserve the Wyatt name. Solo closes by saying he’ll take it all because he can—and all he has to do is “Bo-lieve.” The lights drop and The Wyatt Sicks materialize on the ring apron. Solo Sikoa turns his back in defiance, only to spin around into Uncle Howdy’s face. A brawl erupts instantly: Howdy and Solo trade blows while the rest of both factions clash. It boils down to Tonga Loa against Erick Rowan, with Rowan overpowering Loa. In the end, The Wyatt Sicks stand tall in the ring as The Bloodline retreats up the ramp.
- Backstage, The Miz angrily confronts Nick Aldis for being left off Saturday Night’s Main Event and for last week’s bait-and-switch. Bayley interrupts to thank Aldis, prompting Miz to storm off. Aldis informs Bayley her opponent for Saturday Night’s Main Event is Sol Ruca, who arrives on cue. Bayley warns the newcomer that she’s been watching her and that SmackDown is a different beast, but Sol Ruca coolly says she’s ready. Bayley ends by telling Ruca she’ll be watching her closely at NXT Deadline.
- Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviewed Gunther. Gunther stated clearly that he would defeat LA Knight tonight and then go on to beat John Cena in what he presumes will be Cena’s final match. He acknowledged the many passionate Superstars who covet this opportunity, but insisted that the entire tournament was a “foregone conclusion.” Gunther concluded his statement by addressing Cena directly, saying Cena could indeed “see him,” and that he should pay close attention to how Gunther will dismantle LA Knight tonight.
- In a dark pre-taped vignette, Aleister Black tells Damian Priest that he has wasted years standing beside people who never truly stood by him, and now Black will be the one to finally give him the brutal truth. Zelina Vega joins, warning that Rhea Ripley is desperately trying to keep Priest under her control and that her actions are only speeding up his downfall. Black closes by promising that if Priest truly wants an inferno, he will personally guide him straight through the flames.
