by The so called taped Greatest Wrestling Match Ever between Edge and Randy Orton has already been aired earlier today as WWE Backlash 2020 PPV telecasted on WWE Network and local TV in India. Although the whole PPV was a mixed bag including a spectacular WWE Championship match between McIntyre vs Lashley but it was indeed the main event between Edge and Orton which stole the night.
WWE Backlash 2020 Winners and Losers
1. Apollo Crews (c) vs. Andrade with Zelina Vega and Angel Garza United States Championship Match
Winner – Apollo Crews
Loser – Andrade
Before the beginning of this match Kevin Owens came down to the ramp and joins the commentary team. During this match Angel Garza gets on the apron and tries to create a distraction but Owens pulls him down and hits Garza with a Stunner. Andrade was about to hit the Hammerlock DDDT on Apollo Crews but Crews manages to counter it into his patented tossing powerbomb and he pins Andrade for the win.
2. Sasha Banks and Bayley (c) vs. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vs. The IIconics (Peyton Royce and Billie Kay) WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
Winners – Sasha Banks and Bayley (c)
Losers – Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross , The IIconics (Peyton Royce and Billie Kay)
In the end of this match all three teams hit finishers to each other. Alexa Bliss hits Twisted Bliss on Peyton Royce but Sasha Banks rolls up Bliss for a surprise three count and gets the sneaky victory retaining the tag team titles.
3. Sheamus vs. Jeff Hardy Singles match
Winner – Sheamus
Loser – Jeff Hardy
During this match, Jeff Hardy dives off the ring steps and hits Sheamus. Hardy grabs the ring steps but Hardy eventually decides to drop them outside the ring. In the end, Hardy hits Sheamus with the Twist of Fate followed by the Swanton Bomb. Sheamus manages to get his foot on the bottom rope! Sheamus rolls out of the ring. Hardy tries to dive off the barricade but Sheamus lands a Brogue Kick in time. Sheamus tosses Hardy back into the ring and hits him with another Brogue Kick pinning him up for the win.
4. Asuka (c) vs. Nia Jax RAW Women’s Championship Match
Winner – No One (Draw)
Loser – No One (Draw)
Asuka manages locks in an armbar on Nia Jax using the ropes after which Asuka pulls Jax out of the ring. Asuka locks Jax in a mind blowing flying armbar. Jax manages to overpower Asuka and gets to her feet after which Jax slams Asuka into the barricade. Both women are counted out. After the end of this match Asuka dives off the apron and hits Nia Jax outside the ring.
5.Braun Strowman (c) vs. Miz and Morrison Universal Championship Match (handicap rules, but whoever gets the pin will be the champion.)
Winner – Braun Strowman
Losers – Miz and Morrison
The duo of Miz and Morrison hits a Skull Crushing Finale-double stomp combo on Braun Strowman. Morrison tries to pin Strowman but Miz breaks up the pin after which Miz realizes that he has made a huge mistake and tells Morrison to pin him againn but Strowman kicks out and eventually pins Morrison after hitting him with a running powerslam.
6. Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Bobby Lashley w/MVP WWE Championship Match
Winner – Drew McIntyre
Loser – Bobby Lashley
Drew McIntyre puts Bobby Lashley in a double wrist lock but Lashley manages to get to the ropes. McIntyre went for a Claymore but Lashley counters it with a Spear. Lana walks down on the ramp and got knocked off the apron onto MVP. Amidst all this confusion McIntyre hits Lashley with a Claymore and pins him up for the victory.
7. Edge vs. Randy Orton The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever
Winner – Randy Orton
Loser – Edge
This match was labeled as Greatest Wrestling Match Ever by WWE but it was nowhere close to that although it was the best match of both these superstars entire careers for sure. We have seen both Edge and Orton hitting each other with a no. of finishers like Unprettier, Pedigree, Rock Bottom and kicking them out after that. Orton low blows Edge and hits him with a Punt. Orton pins Edge for the victory. After the end of this match the medical staff came with a stretcher but Edge refuses medical attention as Orton looks on.
